Deer Park North - 7 miles

A variation on an old walk. On one of our walks, Petersfield to Liss, we were having breakfast on our bench when a brown and white spaniel ran past - followed by our next-door neighbour, Fred! He was part way through a ten mile run and, having told us of his route, and also some interesting flowers on the route we decided to follow his route to our bench, then come home via Durford Woods.

The outward section of the walk follows the Serpent Way initially.

Purple ToothWort - parasitic plants that feed off the roots of trees - since they don't create food they don't have any leaves

The initial part of the walk follows the River Rother and its tributies

Then we found the Deer Farm - with two fields full of deer, some of them very friendly!

From deer to plastic cows - found in the grounds of MCi Group. Click the link to find out more!

Stunning views across the countryside   Liz wanted to take this home to put in the garden!

This footpath sign is showing its age!

A wonderfully twisted oak tree!   The bluebells are just coming out - see the next walk!

The River Rother again   Another lovely "Walk Me" footpath

Back on a familiar footpath and the bluebell wood we know well   Some lovely beech trees

A footpath I know well - clear at this time of year   The horse chestnut I have photographed through the seasons

The soil is amazingly sandy

A natural flower arrangement
