Combination Walk 1: Deer Farm North then The Jolly Drover in reverse direction - 9 Miles

It was almost overcast at the start - completely cloudy, but the forecast came right later and it was lovely with lots of sun and clouds. This is a new walk: a combination of Deer Farm North and the Jolly Drover going north - which also meant that we were able to walk DOWN the Farther Common hill, which is a struggle to walk UP.

We also took a path we've not taken before - going towards Durford Mill, across maize fields.

A good start - we need to get into that field!

Liz isn't afraid of cows!   They look pretty docile

Across the maize field

SECOND stile (we've photographed the FIRST stile before)   A lovely oak tree at the edge of the maize field

THIRD stile   Butser Hill radio tower in the distance

Not a difficult path to follow!

PLUMS: spotted in a field beside the footpath

Wonderfully neat rows of maize

Wild apples - I picked some of these last year for hedgerow jelly
