Petersfield - Shoulder of Mutton - Petersfield: 8.35 miles - 18,262 steps

The day started badly - I got to the bottom of the road before I realised that I was still wearing my sandals, I had to go home and put my walking boots on!

Hedgerow fruits are almost at an end so I picked three ice-cream tubs of blackberries, rose hips, hawthorne berries and sloes. This slowed me down a bit but it was a lovely warm, humid day and I enjoyed the walk.

Another sign of the approach of autumn was the number of fungi around.

A good harvest of acorns

Cobbett's View is still as attractive as ever

I find it impossible to walk past an array like this!   Hedgerow Jelly mix ready for the preserving pan

All the ingredients in the preserving pan

The result - a garage full of jam.
I do worry about the shelving!
