Petersfield - Butser - Petersfield: 11.2 miles - 25,410 steps

The first part of this walk is along The Causeway in Petersfield and is on pavements. Then there is the cycle way to Queen Elizabeth Country park which follows the route of the old A3 and at one point is high above the current A3. In the forest I saw three deer - two some way off and possible try to mate and another quite close to the path.

From the Country Park I ascended Butser Hill, which seems to be visible from almost all my walks. Interestingly there are few public footpaths on Butser Hill but I followed a clearly marked path up and down the hill. Up to this point it had been quite cloudy but as I climbed the hill the sun came out and there were lots of cumulous clouds - it was glorious.

I joined a road new Twentyways Farm - that seemed excessive - then to Ramsdean and along a bye way which was almost a river bed and almost completely covered by branches of trees on either side. This took me to Stroud Common and then to the A3 again. There is a footpath parallel to the A3 leading to the roundabout where the A272 crosses the A3 - only a mile home, again on footpaths.
