Buriton - 9.0 Miles

We've walked to Buriton before but it was only six miles so I thought that we'd introduce a little loop around Buriton - along a lane called The Milk Way, then a short section of the South Downs Way before descending into Buriton and then home.

We bumped into Pete and Rose (taking care to remain two metres apart!) on the last section, then called on Sheila (ditto) and John and Trish Ide (ditto) in Broadway Park.

The signpost on Sussex Road

There are several footbridges on this section...

... and one gate that needed a footbridge!   This was OK

A magnificent old oak tree   There was lots of wild garlic - the smell was wonderful!

A lovely footpath through the woods   A natural still-life

The radio tower on the top of Butser Hill is almost always visible from somewhere on my walks

An old oak tree - just about hanging on to life!   This footpath is called The Milky Way

We followed the South Downs Way for a short while   Pylons and power lines are useful navigational aids

Teasels by the side of the path

Self-service refreshments on the South Downs Way

Flapjacks £1.00 and a PayPal account provided!

Dog biscuits and water provided free!

Resting before descending into Buriton   You don't expect to find such a large rabbit in the woods!

Resting before descending into Buriton   A relic of Buriton's industrial past

En route to Petersfield from Buriton   Cattle - fortunately in the next field!
